You mention brothers and sisters in your title, your profile says you filed for a K1 fiance visa, and you posted in the CR-1 spousal visa forum. What visa are you wanting to know about?

Bye: Penguin

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

I say make certain that your on the scheduling calendar for the next interview, emailing the IV unit once a day till you get a response filled with exact steps for what's next for you, from them.

Yay!

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

**** Moving from CR-1 spousal visa to K1 fiance visa forum ****

It sounds like you are in AP- extra security and name checks. This can take from a few weeks to severla months and is very unpredictable.

Nothing much you can do, as the timeframe is so unpredictable. Maybe have your USC fiance contact the embassy if you are still waiting in February and see if they can tell her anything, but chances are no.

BTW, if you write out your words rather than use "txt spk", your questions are easier to read and understand and you may get more answers.

Sorry to hear that, but don't worry they will get back to you soon . Just pray and be patient now days is seems like there are people in that embassy who don't do their part right. If you are in AP there is nothing you can do to speed it up, they take their time as much as they feel. My self I have been in AP for more than six month now, I tried to contact both DOS and the embassy but all they do is give same responds and now I have decided just to lay back and wait. Though is so sad when I talk with my wife every day and she cries on the fone. just hung in there

With your case you are not sure if it is in AP. my thoughts to you is to call the embassy or email them. Explain everything to them and if it is AP they will tell, which they always say it can take one week to 90 working days and in some cases it can take longer (years) so just give them a call and see what they will tell you.

shessa - there is no 'step' for you to take here, save for waiting.

What happened prior?

You submitted requested stuff into the IV unit. It's in a queue now, for two things, possible three:

1. add it to the casefile

2. review the casefile for completeness

3. issue the visa and visa packet.

each of of these things takes time, and each thing has it's own queue. When it's finished with one thing, it goes to the end of the queue of the next thing.

So, if you want some status, call DoS Hotline, inquire for status, every 2 or 3 days. Sooner or later, the status will change, and you'll hear of it with that telephone call.
