Well I always say, be careful what you ask for- you might just get it. The dems got their wish and have a majority in the house. Now the ball is in your court. Have fun! Just remember this while you celebrate. Iraq is now yours. You can't scream that Bush handed you a bucket of sh!t. You said that you wanted a new direction and conned enough former Republican voters to give you a chance. Regardless of what happens in the next two years it will be your mess now. If you force Bush to pull out and Iraq goes up in a big ball of fire it's your fault. If you let Bush keep the troops there every death from now on is on your head. If we get hit with another 9/11 it will be the dems fault. I think the next 2 years will be fun to watch.

If I know my dems right they will spend the next two years investigating everything that has pissed them off for the last 6 years. They will try to impeach Bush. They will raise taxes on everyone. The economy will tank and the dems will get the blame. They will roll back the Patriot Act and let the terrorist have their way. They will clean out Gitmo and let the terrorist go free. Try as they might they will blame everything on Bush and the Republicans but it will not wash with the voters that crossed over to put them in power. This will ensure that in 2008 we will not only get the house back but I think we could run anyone for president and win. When the hangover has faded and reality sets in I think you will lament winning the house. It will cost you and the American people a lot.

No matter who is in control, they will get blamed whether it's Republican or Democrat. That shouldn't be surprising, it's just how it works. It's not "typical republican blaming", it's "typical politicians blaming" because both sides do it.

Those are not the values that won this election. It was pro-life and conservative dems that shifted seats-which I am ok with. Whether they say they are dem or rep, it is their values that matter. Now we will see if they vote like they presented themselves. That is always the true test. Dems are not going to go too radical on us. Why would they do that? BTW congrats on the win!
