Letter to congress regarding Sequester USCIS related

Well, we've heard a lot about the automatic spending cuts if congress cannot come to an agreement. Majority of the discussion has been around defense, but while reading up on it, USCIS is scheduled for more than $200 million in cuts should congress not be able to reach a deal. In the beginning it will be contractors and term employees that will be let go. Long term employees are looking at possibilities of furloughs (time off without pay) should the cuts happen. If congress is unable to agree, we may be looking at this wait becoming even greater. So i'm urging all of the USC whom are currently waiting to write to their congressman to tell them to get their butts in line and pass the budget. Government agencies (personal knowledge) are already preparing for cuts and temporary workers are already being let go. This is most likely also occurring at the USCIS. Just my input / worry.

Although you're probably right, it's a friggin outrage if USCIS or NVC took any kind of a hit. USCIS and NVC should be self-maintained from the fees they collect from us.

The same with PBS television. Why are tax payers funding PBS? Shouldn't they be self-maintained also from advertisements and sale of Sesame Street rights and stuff like toys?
