Today I shipped out 2.6 pounds of documents for my fiancee's interview that I was tired of scanning and sending to my fiancee lol. Well I should have scanned more because my shipment just letter size was $130 to arrive Monday the 21st. Or $124 to arrive Wednesday just 2 days later. I opted for Monday. I compared UPS to Fed EX and Fed Ex is a bit cheaper and arrives one or two days sooner. I also had better luck while I lived in Philippines with Fed Ex. I know they are normally cheaper. Oh well this is done and should have been done sooner but I am lazy. lol. Just wanted to pass on so everyone can plan accordingly and share how they shippped.

Cheers

I shipped copies of the Petition and a few other things to Tunisia, about 2 lbs worth. I used the U.S. Postal Priority Mail. He got the package in 10 days and it only cost about $30. You can go express mail, which is more expensive, and get a tracking number for still cheaper than Fedex or UPS.

I am happy it worked for you. Most do not have good luck with the Philippines side of the postal service. Oh how I wish I could trust and have your luck with the Philippines postal service. Good luck with the rest of your journey.

I used USPS priority mail, they said it would arrive in a week. It was over 3 lbs and cost about $45. I didn't realize until I asked for tracking slip after paying that they don't have a usual tracking ID. They gave me a Customs ID number and phone number and said I could track it that way. It has been less than a week so I haven't tried yet. Also I sent it to Fiances work address since I've had more luck sending things there than to his home. This Saturday will be a week... Keeping fingers crossed!!

Also on USPS website it says you save up to 5% if you ship online and Track and Confirm Tool is an option. Idk why I didn't have this option at the post office?

To update on my post... It took 13 business days for recipient to receive the notification to pick it up at the post office. He's in metro manila so it should not have taken so long. After the 10th business day, I starting to really question whether it would arrive. The tracking information was not current on USPS. Apparently after it arrives in Philippines they have little visibility. I later realized they also had tracking details on the Philippine postal website but the last update was the seventh business day.

I emailed about every contact I could find on the Philippine postal website. The only one that responded so far was ems.cs@philpost.gov.ph.

The USPS customer service could not help me and opened a case. Told me I'd receive a response in writing within 60 days.

I would strongly suggest avoid the worry and pay the extra money for FedEx or UPS.

My fiancé will pickup the package tomorrow. I pray it is in tact with all documents still there...
