I am one of the 2013 DV selectee and i already got my immigrant Visa.. please i want to know this little information my people in this Forum?

Can i go to the US with ONEWAY air ticket as i am going to be a permanent resident living and working there??

or do i need to book my flight ticket with return?

Please help me on this and i will be looking forward to read from you as soon as possible

If you have your visa, you should be good with a one way. It would be odd to have a return ticket unless you're returning for a short time to settle your affairs before completing the move. But if you don't plan on going back soon, just get a one way ticket.

03/23/2022: Application for passport submitted at USPS facility under standard processing.

04/04/2022: Status changed to “The U.S. Department of State has received your application for your passport book on 04/04/2022. We're now reviewing your application and supporting documents...Your application locator number is 51*******.”

04/04/2022: Check for passport cashed.

05/03/2022: Status changed to "The U.S. Department of State approved your application for your passport book. We're now printing your passport book and preparing to give it to you. You should receive your passport book on or around 05/09/2022."

05/05/2022: Passport Received.

05/09/2022: SSA Citizenship Status Updated.

05/25/2022: Naturalization Certificate received in mail.

What did your visa said? immigrant visa right?you are immigrating to USA and it s up to you if you wanna purchase one way or return.each way still leads you to USA .

Each way WILL lead you to the US however it is much cheaper to buy round trip tickets even if you never plan to board the returning flight.

Yes, you can use a one way ticket. However, return tickets are often cheaper, and you could just cancel the return once you are here.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

A one way ticket is sometimes double the cost of a return so just buy a return and cancel the return journey when you get here.

My Immigration Progress

12/12/12 - Forms Sent (i-130, i-485, i-765, i-131, i-864)

12/13/12 - USCIS Received

12/18/12 - NOA's Received

12/24/12 - Biometrics Appointment Received.

01/03/13 - RFE Received (I-485)

01/08/13 - Biometrics Appointment, Atlanta, GA (27 days)

01/15/13 - EAD Approved (34 days)

01/15/13 - AP Approved (34 days)

01/15/13 - Interview ready for Scheduling

01/18/13 - EAD in Production
