Montreal interview

Here is our shortened version. Went on a family vacation for Christmas '05. Did not have an AP(do not recommend trying that), and were denied re-entry to the U.S. Lost all beneficiary paperwork,(considered abandoned), petitioners still good, just not approved at that time.(see timeline below). FFWD. Got our appointment date for 1 NOV 2006. We arrived at the consulate at about 7:45, and I must say the lady guard there impressed us all. She came , spoke French to the first guy without missing a beat, and said his bag was not allowed, spoke French to the lady, then without missing a beat spoke english to us (without speaking French first), then immediately asked the guy behind us if he had his $100.00. It was like she studied everybody before they got there. Got through security, went downstairs to the waiting room, we were not first, but everyone else chose seats everywhere except close the elevator. The guard came and opened the elevator, and we were the first and straight back we went, faced the far door, everyone climbed in and faced forward. Guess they didn’t have VJ. Elevator opened, went left, then left and straight to window 14. Finally it opened, got our number and proceeded to hurry-up and wait. Ding, ding, ding, all the a’s were getting ordered up, then ding, C-1, so off we went. Met the man I the back, through the 1” thick glass. He asked if they had ever been denied entry, so we said yes, explained why, Then he explained to us why we could not entry the way we entered. That someone at the border was finally doing their job. This was not sitting well with my wife, but she maintained. Then he passed us on. Went back and waited again. Ding, C-1 , so off to the little room for prints, how did you meet, and a yellow slip to re-enter the next day to pick up thier passports with the visas inserted. Left the next day, entered at 1000 Island Bridge, the CBP here were very nice, and as slow as they were nice. But and hour later and an explanation of how things would work, we were off and running. Made it home Saturday the 4th. What a relief for everyone to be back together in our home again.
