I got my entire package back today with a rejection notice stating I didn't include my alien relative's country of birth on it... he was born in KSA and that is clearly typed/printed on all the forms... someone suggested it's because I didn't write out Kingdom of Saudi Arabia... could that seriously be it????

No average Joe knows what KSA is. Is it Kansas? Yes, you cannot abbreviate foreign countries. You must write out the name of the country.

I could understand that if we were dealing with average joes but it's immigration they deal with foreign countries all day every day, they have to know what it means. I guess I'll write it out and send it back and hope they don't find another reason to reject it. Thanks

No abbreviations should be used on applications. There is no reason for them to know what KSA would stand for. It could mean any number of things depending on where it came from. I don't even write the abbreviated state in the U.S. and write it out each time, just in case!

Unfortunately, that might be it. I onlh abbreviated USA and Texas, for my husband's places of birth, former address etc. But for my country etc, I made continuation sheets

“The fact that we are here and that I speak these words is an attempt to break that silence and bridge some
of those differences between us, for it is not difference which immobilizes us, but silence.
And there are so many silences to be broken.”

it could be because i remember i got my i-130 case sent back because i couldn't give a specific address because my spouse lives in the village where everyone kinda knows which house is yours so they don't have general street signs and house numbers but i attached a sheet explaining that. so i was confused on why they would send it back if that was the only problem. but then i realized that on the i-130 form in the box to the question i had to write "see attached note" I did that having be my only correction and sent back everything as is and they accepted it.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure when you make your correction that you put your initials next to the question you're correcting. I don't know why you have to do that but when i called and asked about the problem i had, the lady on the phone told me to do that. i guess you need it because they accepted it. i don't know what would happen if you don't. but on the safe side i would just do that.

absolutely ! could also be 'Kartoum Special Authority' region.

Abbreviate nothing. Have a space problem with the pdf file, can't get it all in?

Fill out an I-130 with a pen.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Or it could have just been written as Saudi Arabia, since that is what it is commonly called. For example, if someone wrote UMS I'm not sure that USCIS would know that they meant Mexico.

If you guys are having problem with space in the PDF file, download a free piece of software called Foxit Reader. Open up your PDF with that and then fill out all the fields that you can without running into space problem. Then when there is space problem, on the menu bar click "Comments". Then select "Typewriter". Then place you cursor where it needs to go and type-away. You can adjust font size, color, etc. I was able to use that to fill out all the fields that I couldn't fit text in.

Also as for address, Bangladesh doesn't have steet number and name in the village are. So what I did is wrote as follows:

Name: Blah Blah

Village: Blah Blah

Post Office: Blah Blah

Police Station: Blah Blah

City: Blah Blah

District: Blah Blah

Division: Blah Blah

Postal code: Blah Blah

Country: Bangladesh

That's a common method for addressing things in Bangladesh. And it worked. I'm sure Saudi Arabia has something similar.
