My NOA date is April 27th 2012 and biometric were done on May 31st 2012. Since than I have been waiting with no updates. Calling USCIS is like wasting your cell phone minutes. I have been planning to go back home to visit my parents and dont know what to do since my ROC is still pending.

Any suggestions. Thank you!

Anything you could do before ROC you can do after filing ROC and waiting while it is pending. This includes work, study, and international travel.

VSC is running slow with ROC cases at the moment, nothing you can do about that.

You have your extension letter, I presume, so you are free to travel.

Yes i do have the extension letter but afraid when returning the foreign airport staff will understand the letter or may insist on the dates showing on the GC as expired....do you think USCIS will put the stamp on my passport with the expiration date?

Consult other people that have traveled back to your home country with expired GC + extension letter.

Call the airline that you'll be flying, ask them.

Most of the airlines/countries are familiar with the GC+letter combo, but there's always a concern here on VJ from various members about that.

Again, talk to someone from your home country who has gone back with the GC+letter. Theoretically, you shouldn't have any problems, many people have traveled with those documents.

I've seen people make infopass appointment and ask for the stamp with varying results. There's a chance that your GC could be taken away in lieu of the stamp. It could be not.

There's tons of topics about this on VJ, do a search.

If you are planning to go to Pakistan, then try to get a infopass and get your passport stamped to be safe side.
