bar-coded cover sheets by email

Hi all, just trying to figure out if this is normal. There's all this talk about making your own barcoded cover sheets and I was getting ready to do that so as to not have to wait for the post to come to Chile.

However, NVC has been sending me everything by email, right after paying the bills. In fact I got an AOS packet barcoded cover sheet instantaneously, even before the bill showed as paid.

Hoping the same thing happens once I pay the IV bill as well.

Is this happening to everyone else? Hopefully this is another step toward moving everything online, which will be great for future VJ-ers.

I received the document cover sheet too through email. I chose to have it emailed rather than print it right away.

the self made barcode was referring more to creating one for mailing your Ds -3032 rather tahan wait for NVCs(Thats what I thought). For some time now NVC issues barcoded cover sheets via the payment portal which you can print out instantly or email to yourself for later printing. It has nothing to do with electronic processing per se like those countries that can do an OPTIN

ah okay. That makes sense. Some of the older shortcut pages have advice about making your own barcodes for the AOS and IV packets but what you said makes much more sense!

anyways, had I known that they'd send these things right away, I would have had the packets tooootally ready. as it stands i was just a few days behind. but good to know anyways that they are making things faster for folks.
