I-129F Question 18, enough detail?

I am beginning to wonder if I didn't go into enough detail with this. My fiancee and I originally met over a decade ago and I did not go into too much detail about the physical circumstances of that meeting (we met through the woman I rented my apartment from). We reconnected last year on Facebook and for that I did go into a lot of detail (and even included the chat transcripts) but for the original meeting I did not describe the circumstances beyond that we "met when I visited her country in xxxx and later lost contact" and I never mentioned how we were actually introduced.

I didn't think more detail was needed since it was Facebook though which we met this time which seemed a lot more relevant to the "describe how you met in the last 2 years" part of the question but now I have some doubts after reading other's experiences. Will I get RFE'd for not covering the circumstances of our original meeting? If so can I send an addendum now?

USCIS has no clue as to how you met. Only what you told them. Most people only give give a short description, to cover that the face to face meeting necessary happened in the last 2 years. As long as both of you are on the same page, you should be fine.

when they say meet in the last 2 years they mean in person. So are you saying the last time you saw each other was 10 years ago?

Sending an addendum at this point would be fruitless as it will not be matched up with your case. My advice is to just wait, you may or may not get an rfe. Good luck!!!!

I wonder the same. Have you two met in person within the last two years? If not, then your petition will be denied since that is a major condition and the meeting of which they want in Q18.

Read Question 18 again, slowly.......they want you to describe "Has your fiance met and seen you in person...."

They don't care how you first met 10 years ago and how you re-established communication....just describe one physical meeting (they use those words) that happened within the last two years.

You can only send additional information if you get an RFE and must wait for that.

No, we have seen each other in person several times in the last year and those meetings were mentioned in the answer to question #18 and well-documented with airline tickets, train tickets, hotel receipts, etc. So it sounds like we should be good then, I was just having a last-minute panic attack that despite carefully preparing everything I missed something :-).

I think you can relax, it sounds like you did a good job of documenting your recent meetings. For Question 18 I attached a one page document. It had about 6 paragraphs briefly explaining how we met and what we did on our first date, each other time I flew to see her and she to me, and details about when we lived together. I included the dates (as in: April 4th to April 12th 2011) of those visits.
