Hi all :)

Thank you for the great and the most helpful information online!

I married a month ago and now working on my AOS. I'm planing to sent the documents till the end of this month. I wanted and I thought that I was going to get our marriage certificate with my married family name, but there is no change. Is this something usual? Can I send the documents using my husband's family name and can I change the name on SSN before receiving EAD?

Another question ... what is the difference if you send together 1-485 and i-130, and if you send first only I-485?

Thank you!

Silvi

Your marriage certificate should say your maiden name. Mine has my wifes old name.

You should send the documents using your new name but make sure you go to the SS office and change it ASAP. There are specific questions where it asks for your maiden name.

Not sure with the other question. I presume you have a child?

Hi guys, I sent my documents on Feb 8th, I didn't expect to get 4 case numbers for each form, as I put only 2 copies of each document (2 packages, I-130 and I-485) but anyway ... I have some questions, please.

I sent around 60 photos and I was wondering, will I get them back, or I should print them again for the interview?

We couldn't file the taxes for 2012, because my husband was a student last year, and the lady in H&R Block said something about delay ... and IRS dosen't have something ... and they are waiting ... honestly no idea, but could this be a problem? We filed with the taxes from 2011, 2010 and 2009.

Your 2011 tax return is fine for February filing. They do not insist that 2012 is you most recent tax return until after the tax filing deadline of April 15, for reasons similar to yours...you can't file until you receive all your tax documents.

Your photos will be in your file at the interview. No need to print them again.
