You should also be aware of the following guidelines for the civil surgeons:

according to page 11 a suicide attempt/scarring on your wrists (page 11) is considered harmful behavior and could make you ineligible however if it has been more then 12 months- it could fall into the category of 'less likely to recur' (page 14) which would make you admissible.

The best thing you can do is familiarize yourself with the procedures and be honest.

Just a minor correction here: K-1 medicals are not done by civil surgeons. They are done by panel physicians and the I-693 is not used for K-1 medicals.

Here is the FAQ about the K-1 medical: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3745.html

My suicide wrist cuts were 5 years ago, nothing since, the scarring on my leg is from school, maybe 8-10 years ago. You cannot look past my scars, but I am totally fine and stable. Alot of people have already told me that I should be fine because I am not a danger to anyone (Criminal Record blank proves that) so it's just gonna be in my mind, but not really a worry I can do much about.

But the Co-Sponsor thing as always, people have different idea's and yes the money situation is very close, money is not good, so it is very important that it is right.. So more people are saying the co-sponsor only has to earn for themselves and m,e as beneficiary.. So I hope it is right..

Oh my goodness.

A panel physician and a civil surgeon are virtually the same thing.

One (the panel physician) performs medicals overseas while the other (the civil surgeon) performs them in the US.

Their titles may be different and the form numbers they use may differ but the exam they perform is the same and the criteria is the same. I posted the second link to help the OP as he expressed concern about the exam. Im sure if I spend some time on google I can find the exact same brochure on google titled 'procedures for panel physicians' but it would be the same.

So if youre going to correct something, correct it fully, as a partial correction implies you can disregard the entire brochure as it does not apply.

Yes, they are different, which is what I was stating. Panel physicians are the ones that perform the K-1 medicals overseas, and civil surgeons are in the US. They use different forms. Not everyone knows this. Stating the criteria for a civil surgeon and the I-693 for a K-1 medical can be confusing. I have seen plenty of confusion about the K-1 medical versus the I-693 for AOS over the years. My correction was to clear up any confusion that might occur from your post. The less confusion there is, the better.

Civil surgeons and the I-693 are not used for the K-1 medical. You do not need another medical for AOS if your K-1 medical was done within a year of filing, and if your DS-3025 vaccination sheet is properly filled out and all the required vaccinations are marked off on it at the time of your K-1 medical, then you would never need to see a civil surgeon in the US to get an I-693.

There, I believe that 'fully' corrects it now.

The co-sponsor only needs to meet the 125% requirement for their own household size plus the beneficiary. London is unique and will allow self-sponsorship. They also only need the financials from one sponsor. If you have a co-sponsor, only they will need to provide the financial documentation.

Does anyone know if the co-sponsor guidelines are different if the USC is currently residing abroad?

The co-sponsor guidelines are the same as they are for the USC sponsor, plus they need to provide proof of being a USC or LPR. It does not matter where the USC lives.

So my Fiancée applying won't even need to? Or should I just take it and give them the co-sponsor and see if they require more? I cannot self sponsor, I have no savings, no assets and I work min wage over here. I'd need waaay more to do it myself.

I have a co-sponsor, she lives with her mum and sister BUT she is 21 and her own adult, so does that mean she can file co for me whilst living at home? She'll be making around $25k per year. Does this situation work for me? It's best I have at the minute, she has offered to help and this is what she can do, it'll only be me and her on the earnings sheet, so that should be okay, right?

Thank you all, so helpful!! This will all be in the past eventually..

No. Only the co-sponsor will need to provide financial documents. Here is a link about it. The whole thread there is good to read through for going through London : http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/page__view__findpost__p__5136467

If your co-sponsor has no dependents and claims no one on her taxes, then yes, it would be just herself and you for her household size.
