Hello,

Can anyone tell me if there's a difference in e-filing the EAD with AOS? What I mean is sending in the AOS paperwork but then doing EAD online as apposed to sending the EAD paperwork in the same packet as AOS. Would I still be able to select adjustment of status as the reason for filing EAD? I hope I haven't confused anyone. Any thougths?

I believe you can do what you are saying but it is my understanding that it would slow down the process of getting the EAD approved ... Unless you are doing it for financial reasons it is better to apply for the EAD with the AOS package ...

From what I have read on VJ if you efile for your EAD then at some point in the process they will request some paperwork for you ... So this can slow down the process ... When you mail it all in together they have everything they need in the package ...

But I am sure others will pop in and explain it better than I did ...

Elena,

I am inclined to go along with Waiting in Vancouver. Also, I seem to recall seeing the report of an attorney's visit to a Service Center or the NBC a while ago in which the reply to a question by the attorney was that they (the Service Center) hated e-filing because of the difficulty of getting mailed supporting documentation matched up with the e-filed application.

I personally would not use e-filing.

Waiting in Vancouver,

There have been many times when there's been nothing to correct about your posts. I'm not a fan of the 'ditto post', I post only when I think I have something to add to what's already been written.

Well I appreciate the times you have had to correct me as I would hate to be giving people the wrong advice ....

I also really appreciate the advice that you and many others have supplied to me personally on this site over the years ...
