Hi Vjer's,

Good day everyone!I do sporadic visits to this site as I always am busy with work.

Anyway,I am worried about 2 things, first me and my fiance agreed that he won't be coming over to accompany me on my interview since we're trying save some money to move somewhere when I get there US.Would it have a negative effect on my visa being approved?

Second,I just quit my job and have not yet done my formal resignation,I just told my Manager that I won't be coming back to work anymore for safety reasons.I worked as a Call center specialist and I was just held up 2 weeks ago.Our shift starts at 1am and I'm really scared to death of going back to work.Would the embassy find out about this?Would they ask?Or would it be fine if I just tell them I am unemployed?

I hope someone answer my queries as I am very much worried.Good luck everyone on your journey.

Jan

Most go through the interview alone for the same reason you two are choosing that way. It won't have a negative affect, but with marginal cases, the fiancé being there is a help. So don't worry about going through the interview alone, you'll have plenty of company of others going through it alone.

The embassy will not care about your current work situation.

USC is not required at the interview and will not affect the CO's decision.

Good luck!

Jan1962 - First, there is no requirement for your fiance to be present at interview. Concentrate primarily on having all your required paperwork and all supporting documents in order. Second, job situation shouldn't be a factor. My fiancee, Inday, had to decline several job opportunities while awaiting results at various stages of the K-1 process and this was of no concern to embassy. However, during your interview, if it happens to come up for some reason--just like with all your responses--just be honest.

Good luck on your interview!!!

^^^ The U.S. Embassy Manila allows the fiancé(e) to attend the interview.

Jan1962...I think it's a good idea for a fiancé(e) to attend the interview if their income is close to the poverty guideline. Also, if you believe the Embassy may question whether your relationship is bona fide, it would be a good idea for your fiancé(e) to attend the interview.

The Embassy won't care if you are jobless. However, they may be interested in your potential employability in the U.S. This could come into play if your fiancé(e)'s income is near the poverty guideline.

Shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure that when the CO asks you "What are you going to do when you go to the U.S?" Don't answer "Go to work or find a job", you will get blue or denial. The right answer is "to marry my fiance".

Make sure its not too thick and bendable. My wife brought scrap books she put together just for the interview, but they need to be slide through a security check in slot which required them to bend slightly.

You can have your fiance call them, they'll just say wait or if its over the current processing times, put in a service request which rarely accomplishes anything. If you are over the processing time, its better for your fiance to contact his congressional rep or senator to find out why its going over.
