Not know when wife can return to finish interview at Abu Dhabi

My wife went to her scheduled interview Thursday, January 10, 2013. When she arrived, the receptionist told her that her 2 passport photos were too large, so come back Friday, January 11, and stand in different line for different receptionist. However, U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi is closed fridays and thursdays. The receptionist not give us any papers to tell us what to do, or when to return.

I called the embassy, they just told me to email them, so I sent them an email.

What is happening to our case?

Can my wife just go to embassy any day, besides fridays and saturdays?

Also, to help understand, all that happened was my wife went to receptionist. Receptionist said, "You're 2 passport photos too large. Come back tomorrow (friday)." Receptionist not give papers, not give interview, no instructions.
