an i130 appoval doesnt have many assumptions to be made

either you qualify or you dont

ive never even seen someone denied

no that it doesnt happen, just that theyre rare

they are typically for people petitioning for beneficiaries with overstay history and things like that

if you have no real red flags then it would bea very pointless interview.

and i dont mean red flags like age and religious differences

I saw two actually denied I-130 case numbers in the sample of 438 I-130s I just pulled. One other was just marked "completed" rather than denied or approved, and three or four more were working through RFEs. The denied ones were together in the list and had the same decision date so it looked like maybe one family. That's pretty rare, yes.

I heard something about some of the local US offices getting confused and thinking they needed to call people in for interviews, because that is what always used to happen if an I-130 was sent to a local office. It's not terribly unusual for a worker to have an outdated piece of paper on their desk. I hope the person who is being called in for an interview lets us know what happened.

Yup, that's my posit - the workers in the local USCIS offices are using outdated guidelines for adjudication.

I am going to the interview next week and reading though here I am very worried.

Does anyone have any experiences to share and how long after their case was approved.

It is is 2 years after interview, I am going to pack and leave and live with my wife elsewhere!
