It's funny that his smart Alec comments on rape lead to a gestation like election campaign and those words, I'm sure, birthed his loss. That wasn't a legitimate rape though so technically he should have won by default.

The idea that a woman's body will not conceive from rape is medieval. Literally. As in 13th century medieval. This has been proven WRONG. Anyone who suggests that that indeed is still the case needs to give their head a shake. I don't care if they are a doctor, or how long they have been a doctor.

i was three years away from conception in 1975 and yet i still know that whether or not a woman is stressed or relaxed while being inseminated is not a reliable method of determining the legitimacy of mutual consent during conception.

An early British legal text — Fleta, from about 1290 — has this to say: "If, however, the woman should have conceived at the time alleged in the appeal, it abates, for without a woman's consent she could not conceive."

There was an antiquated idea that a woman could not become pregnant without having an orgasm because it was believed that there was a female "seed" secreted during climax which needed to complement the male sperm.
