It teaches against a lot of stuff. It teaches against working on Sundays. And look around what happens in this oh so Christian nation on Sundays. People work all over the place. Hell, Jesus worked on a Sunday curing a crippled man. Why? Because compassion is the overarching story of the NT. Even trumps the biblical law. So, why not be a good Christian and be compassionate towards thy neighbor - even if he is gay.

The four Gospels were written for another purpose. To show how salvation came to the Jews. Acts shows how salvation came to the Gentiles specifically. The Jews weren't worried about committing homosexual acts. They knew it was inherently evil from their own Scriptures. The reason Paul mentions it more often, is because it was a problem among the Gentiles, more specifically the Roman aristocracy especially. But even in the lower ranks of Roman society.

So you are saying that gays are evil? My boss is gay and he's one of the nicest people I know. He doesn't have an evil bone in his body but he does go home and sodomize his husband so I guess he must be evil if the bible says so!

It is commonly understood that Jesus preached love and forgiveness. You can find 2 sentences in the New Testament speaking about homosexuality, yet you chose to accept that and ignore 4 Gospels and Acts instead. Remove the splinter from your eye.

The disconnect here seems to be you mention forgiveness but how can there be forgiveness if the guilty party never.

1. Accepts he did anything wrong.. because he does not see his acts as wrong.

2. he never turns away from his acts which are called sin or selfishness.

Are we just to suppose God hands out forgiveness like Monopoly money? According to the Christian faith, those sins were placed on the back of Christ, he paid the price for those who simply seek forgiveness with a remorseful heart.

Not a glib heart.

But to hear you talk, "it's all good".

I know that Paul made two references to it, stating that it was wrong. He also mention several other things as being wrong too, but we'll just ignore them. Paul became a disciple 30+ years after Jesus's death. So the hell with what Jesus and the Gospels taught, the entire purpose of the New Testament was about homosexuality. Does that fit your point of view better?

It does not teach against working on Sundays. This is why theology matters. Men get up on the pulpit and condemn people for doing things the bible doesn't even teach against.

How does it work out for you when you tell your wife that she is your property and that you are better than her because you are a man? Does she agree that her role is to obey and serve you? Or do we ignore that part of the Bible too?

You are entitled to your opinion and your beliefs and on a thread like this which is specifically about religion you certainly aren't breaking any rules. I'm glad you have God in your life if it works for you. It's just not for all of us.
