But according to the New Testament, Jesus was always with us, even before He was born. I guess that means He "inspired" the Old Testament as well.

I just asked the Korean lying in bed* next to me. He said he would censor me in real life if I said that about him, I'd learn but quick what a "kingdom of darkness" is all about. (Apparently it is similar to a Dutch oven under the duvet.)

Seriously, I am equally skeptical of all religions. None of it appeals to me, all of it seems ludicrous. But I have no objection to others believing what they wish as long as it doesn't affect me.

Again, you are just wrong, wrong, wrong on even the basic facts..... and I suspect most of that could be cleared up if you just read the New testament... and then you would realize that 1. they were quite aware of africans and others and 2. addressed these issues quite well.

Seriously picking and choosing to read this text or that is perhaps doing a disservice to you, why not just read the New Testament once, you will have a much greater understanding of both matters of faith (CHristian and Jew) and a greater understanding of history and Western Civilization upon which much of it was built.

This is one reason you never see me commenting to any large degree on the religion of Islam, I just don't have a deep enough exposure to it.

Realizing what so many do with the Bible... picking up certain things out of context..... (stuff they mostly get from anti-Christian web sites,) I will not do the same thing to the Koran.

It cuts both ways. I don't consider saying things such as many Islamic countries deny rights to females and treat them like possessions a bigoted statement. I think it's a fact and can be backed up.

But there are plenty of islamic countries that give the women equal rights and don't act out with extremists. If you are going to debate an issue(not you but the person who is always posting those articles about Islam) then look at both sides of the coin, not just the one that fits your personal agenda.

From polling and much of the public sentiment I have seen, many women do not want some of the things changed you would change.

Every other society has evolved according to it's desire, why not respect these peoples customs and traditions?

Have you ever seen a comparative suicide between this country and many other ones you are talking about?

Our women are killing themselves every bit as much and often time more.. so who are you to tell them to follow our model of success and happiness?

And the Bible groups homosexual sex with adultery, lust, drunkeness, etc, etc. So if you masturbate and don't repent, you're doomed. Oral sex in marriage? Doomed. Premarital sex, doomed. ####### sex between man and woman? Doomed. A hand job, even if married, you're on your way to hell if you don't truly repent and ask for forgiveness. Sex for pleasure is a sin. God put man on this earth to procreate. That is the reason for the homosexual references in the Bible. Problem is, just about everything else man does puts him at jeopardy too. Cheat on your taxes? It's a sin. Look at a hot babe and fantasize, you're on the path to eternal damnation. Eat too much, you're a glutton. That's a no no too. Get drunk and not truly be sorry and ask for forgiveness, you're going straight to hell, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

Sounds like 99999 out of 100000 humans will end up in hell. If God was smart and into efficiency (and I believe he is!) then there's no real point in maintaining an entirely different facility and calling it hell when everyone on earth will end up there anyway. So... earth can now double up as hell. Win-win for everybody. Minimizes transportation costs and overhead. 99999 out of 100000 souls can just stay where they are. The rare 1 can go to a radically downsized heaven facility, probably outsourced to the same people who run hell seeing how much experience they have in running things.
