Hi All,

I have been visiting this forum for a while but never posted anything. My AOS has been approved and I thought I would share with other here on VJ. I came here as an F1 student and then transferred to H-1B. Here is my time line sine then:

07/07/2006: I-129 Petition filed (premium processing)

07/17/2006: RFE received

10/11/2006: Response to RFE

10/17/2006: I-129 petition approved

10/05/2007: I-129 petition filed for H-1B transfer

12/04/2007: I-129 petition for H-1B transfer approved

12/12/2008: Employer agrees to file I-140

03/13/2011: Met my USC wife (now)

05/05/2011: Labor Certification filed (I know they dragged their feet on this)

01/17/2012: Proposed to my (now) wife after she dropped a generous amount of hints :)

03/19/2012: I-140 filed by employer's attorney

03/24/2012: NOA1 received with I-140 priority date 08/30/2011 and notice date 03/21/2012

06/24/2012: Got Married

06/26/2012: Employer agreed to switch from I-140 to I-130 (at no cost to me) since they didn't have to keep renewing my H-1B while the Visa becomes current (I am from India)

07/12/2012: Same attorney files for I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131

07/13/2012: Documents delivered to Chicago lockbox

07/20/2012: NOA1 recieved with I-130, I-485, I-765, & I-131 priority date 07/13/2012 and notice date 07/17/2012 (all receipt numbers start with MSC)

07/23/2012: Request to withdraw I-140 set to USCIS

07/25/2012: Biometric notice received with appointment date 08/10/2012

07/30/2012: USCIS acknowledged withdrawal request for I-140 and action is terminated

08/10/2012: Biometric appointment completed

09/09/2012: Online update for EAD and AP approval

09/10/2012: Card production ordered

09/17/2012: EAD & AP combo card recieved

09/24/2012: Notice for AOS interview received, interview scheduled for 10/29/2012

10/29/2012: Interview canceled dew to Sandy (USCIS field offices closed on Eastern seaboard)

11/04/2012: Interview reschedule notice received, interview rescheduled for 11/16/2012

11/16/2012: AOS interview complete. Interview went really well. Even though IO didn't explicitly said it was approved, he advised I would get my conditional resident card by 30 days. He also stamped my passport with I-551 since I was leaving the country before 30 days. I took that as approval. However, then came the long dreadful wait as online status didn't update.

12/11/2012: Left for India with I-551 stamp on passport under the advise of the lawyer that it was ok. Online status still didn't update since interview.

12/28/2012: Online status updated to approved for both I-130 and I-485

12/28/2012: Online status updated again to approval notices have been mailed

01/03/2013: Online staus updated to card production ordered

01/04/2013: NOA2 received for I-130 & I-485

01/04/2013: Online status updated to card has been mailed out with USPS tracking number.

01/07/2013: New card received.

This has been a long journey.

PS:

01/08/2012: Research started for I-751 filing :)

What I post here is merely my personal opinion and not a valid legal advice and should not be viewed as such.
