If it's silly for you to start wearing it now why is it a must that he doesn't see you without it before marriage? I can understand why you want to wear it in Egypt but for him not to be able to see your hair before marriage is kinda silly IMO. It's just hair.

I know but he's never even kissed a woman and sometimes he gets really *excited* and starts talking about what we might do when we're married. I was just thinking that once we're in person I should get the armor on to head off any temptation. . . but I totally see your point. I'll think about it.

How old is he? He never kissed a woman? Sorry but I just don't believe it. I really am worried for you I hope he doesn't really want you to wear hijab here in the US if you don't want to. It shouldn't be his choice, it should be yours. As bosco said it has nothing to do with your husband it's between you and God.

Actually, similar to Doodle (I think), I knew my fiance before I reverted. We've known each other 2 years and I only reverted back in June. So, he has seen me without hijab and that's fine with me. I won't be wearing it in Egypt just because I don't want him to see me without it.

I don't feel safe wearing it here in the US, though I do want to wear it, so I'm hoping that wearing it while in Egypt will help me to wear it when I come back here after the trip.

Aaaaand, my fiance has let me know so many times that it's my decision on whether I want to wear it or not, even while I'm in Egypt.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

For some reason I can't edit the above post, but I realize some of the grammar I used might be confusing. I plan on wearing hijab in Egypt, but not for my fiance or the fact that he shouldn't see me without it before we marry. When I said, "I won't be wearing it in Egypt just because I don't want him to see me without it." what I was trying to say was that it has nothing to do with him seeing me or not.

Aaand, I think I've confused things even more.

Nope. And if he did he wouldn't care. He'd be more po'd if I shared that he wasn't since it is a shame on him.

I just figured that since you are a good Muslim woman you wouldn't discuss your future husbands virginity on a public forum. Usually Arab men don't like their personal business to be shared with anyone period.

That's not the point... the point is that privacy is very important for most of these men. They want their personal lives to be private and between himself and his wife.

I don't think that was the point. I think what Sarah was remarking is unusual is a Muslim woman discussing her husband's sexual history or lack thereof in a public forum, not whether or not he should be proud or worried he is a virgin.

Actually if you read above, she asked 1) how he feels that I've revealed that he's a virgin and 2) does he read here.

I answered but now everyone is commenting on whether it was good or bad for me to do so as a "muslim woman".

Did she really want to know how he feels or was it an opening for her to share her own feelings about what I've done. That I guess would be my question.
