They'd have to concentrate on whats on the agenda instead of worrying about the party.

And the Senate has been split evenly a few times recently, even changing sides within the same term. That VP vote comes in handy for the President at times.

Biden said today, Obama might require background check for private transfers.

No big problem with that for me,,,, Unless he bypasses congress.

Yep I agree none of the Gun owners would have problem with that having the background check for the pvt transfer.

They need to make it accessible and convenient that is more important and I am sure most ppl would not be happy if they bypass the congress and make a unilateral move.

That is kinda double edge sword and I don’t know if I really oppose that as gun owner.

Its like more I sold the gun here is the transfer paper (just like a car) after that if the weapon is used for illegal purpose I am not responsible.

Why don't you want a record? If you are doing everything legally, there is nothing to hide.

why does anyone ... especially the government ... need a record?

all anyone should be concerned about in the above scenario is if the buyer passes muster.

How would anybody know you were making "shadow" or "straw" purchases, if no record was kept, or perhaps for tax enforcement purposes?

Because then someone gets your info and posts your address on a map lol.

Folks should know where the potential terrorists live, even more than where all the sexual perverts live.

It would also help the Gun Owner if there is a record of the sale, as at the point transfer happen old owner is no longer responsible for the weapon.

You pay for nics? rofl.gif

No, for the actual gun sale. The transfer of tangible property except when sold to a reseller is taxable, either as sales tax if collected by the seller, or use tax to be paid by the buyer with his state income tax form if the seller did not. That includes out of state sales, if the item is taken possession of by the buyer in the state of California.
