The first muslim congressmen (inshaAllah in a few hours) is a progressive democrat who has strong support from the gay community and supports a woman's right to choose. And he has a lot of support from our muslim community.

suppose to be muslims...am I the only that was rubbed wrong by this phrase? Is there a litmus test to be Muslim? How about being for equal protection under the law and economic justice? Think Republicans uphold these values?

Funny you should mention gay rights Shannon. That's what I'm doing my economics research project on - the gay marriage amendment. Did you realize that only about 80% of the congresspeople who were Republican voted for it, and only about 80% of the Democrats voted against it?

Also, one doesn't have to be pro-gay marriage or even pro-abortion to know that the constitution is not a place to discriminate against anybody. If you really want to know who to vote for, look at who they accept money from. That will tell you who will influence their decisions.

You can look up your congressperson here:

Rahma - HE WON!!!! I'm sure you and Tamar are having a blast at the celebration party - can't wait to hear about it tomorrow. I'm really disapointed that none of the national news is even talking about his win. Oh well I'm sure they are over there. I'm hoping to pick up KARE news in the AM to see what they are saying.

They stole my drill press

I have to 3 hole punch a ton of documents for work. Up until today, I could use the handy dandy drill press to accomplish this task.

Howeva, the copy center people have decided we don't need it and have taken it away and put it in storage. I'm now suppose to 3 hole punch hundreds of documents a day with my little manual one :crying: My poor wrists are crying.

Wow, can you say worker's comp claim on the horizon?? Be careful Rahma. First sign of any odd hand/wrist pains, you get checked. (F)

Shannon, since I long ago chose to ignore all posts from you, unfortunately I still see them when someone quotes you (a flaw in the option there  )

But just for the record, I have never claimed to be Muslim. I am not Muslim, but rather am an open minded person honoring all paths of beliefs (unlike you, I might add). And also for the record I *am pro-choice* and I *am for gay rights*. I believe fully in tolerance - something you obviously know nothing about. ;)

I think it's safe to say that she rubs a lot of ppl the wrong way. It's best to ignore the uninformed and ignorant.

*edit*

Noura...I just read your last post...I did the same thing long ago..put her on ignore but unfortunately her posts still show up when ppl quote her.

Didn't party too hard. Had to get up to go to work in the morning. But I'm still on my little cloud of euphoria here.
