 VOTE DEMOCRAT ALL THE WAY !!!

In California we are HOPEFULLY changing governers ....... Arnold was the worst thing that ever happened to California.

I haven't voted yet but will definately do so before or after work.

Jackie,

Ali would love to know more about the elections but I'm not really that into them. So my summary to him was "Every time you see a democrat you vote for them. Then for the issues you go with what the teachers union sas (I'm a teacher" and he thought that was really boring. In Lebanon they get allllll crazy with the elctions and I guess Ali was expecting me to be the same. Maybe by the time he gets to vote he can read all about the candidates and be all into it. Not me though  .

Rahma,

There is really a Muslim running for congress in your state ? That is unbelieveable. Mashallah ! What do all the Republicans think of it ? Does he have a chance of winning ? Is he African-American or Arab-American ?

I wish we can get some other religions in California besides Christian and Jewish.

Reunited and it feels so good ....

Brother Keith is an african american convert to Islam and a progressive DFLer (democrat-farmer-labor), my kind of candidate all the way  He actually worships at the same masjid I do, so I'm a little possessive  If elected, he'll be the first muslim in congress, and the first african american congressman from Minnesota.

The republican candidate Alan Fine has been pulling out all the stops to smear Keith. Keith was a supporter of Louis Farrakhan's black pride/million man march stuff, in his college years, but never joined the Nation. So, he's accused of anti-semetism, even though Keith has strong ties to the Jewish community and is endorsed by several jewish organizations. He has also gotten some backing from CAIR, so the usual anti CAIR shmear, attempting to tie him to terrorism, hamas and whatnot. Barfolla.

But, alhamdulilah, he's risen above it all, refused to engage in personal attacks, and as of the last poll, was ahead 2-1 over the republican.

inshaAllah tonight after the polls close, husband and I will be celebrating his victory! Wo0T!

The first time I heard "Friends don't let friends vote Republican" was at a Nanci Griffith concert. She used to end all of her concerts that way!

I agree this was a year to vote all Democrat, but not because I'm a Dem, just because I think that both parties have their goods and bads (still trying to see what good Bush did though!) and we need to trade off at least every 8 years between them so the other party can clean up the mess the one before it made in the areas where it was weak, and back off some where the other party was too agressive. For me, it's just a matter of balance.

I wish a third party could stand a chance here, but it's not going to happen because of the way our system is structured.

Stupidest thing I heard on NPR yesterday: One of the "old boys" (sorry I didn't get his name) said that all blacks vote democrat, it's just a fact! All I can say is, Buddy, that comment probably just lost you votes whichever side you are on.
