Good morning all. Just getting ready to go off to my polling place before work.

Last night husband and I went to his first american political rally for Keith Ellison and several other DFL candidates. Speaking were the Rev. Jesse Jackson and Al Franken. I got my picture with Al Franken, but Jesse disapeared before we had a chance to track him down with a camera.

If you can vote, do it!

And no, his color is not "hamas green," as he's been accused of this last week by a republican smear attack. It's Wellstone green.

I was first in line to vote in my precinct. I dropped Abdel off at work and then had to wait for 20 minutes for the polls to open. A Korean War Veteran who had come to help the workers get set up talked to me while I waited. After about 10 minutes a Vietnam War Veteran came in and was actually ticked off at me for beating him there. He made me feel guilty for getting there before him. He got to vote first though because I had to show 2 forms of ID because my name had changed and one lady had to show the other one how to do the paperwork for that.

Does anybody else's state give out a sticker to wear to say you voted? I'm in Georgia and ours is a peach that says "I'm a Georgia voter."

Happy Election Day! Today is the day Illinois will choose a Governor. Illinoisans will either keep Blagoavich ® or we will elect a woman to office, Judy Topinka (D). I will be voting on my way to work.

Mohammed was hoping to vote in the next presidential election but won't have citizenship yet. He's just eligible to file for naturalization in Nov 08.

To those with your SO here, are they interested in the elections?

Get out and vote!

Jackie

Just got into work from voting. Yaaay for the laws that say your employer has to give you time off to vote chewy.gif

I was there right as the polls open, and there were already a ton of people there! Yaay for Minnesota for having the most active voters in the nation
