Why is everyone assuming that he would even care for another term? I don't think he does. And again, without term limits, in over 150 years, this country had ONE President elected to office more than twice. One. That's it. FDR. None before ever pulled that off absent of that 22nd Amendment.

And nobody can touch F.D.R. In my opinion he was the best President this country has ever had. Only in regard to immigration enforcement I like Eisenhower better, known for his Operation Wetback of 1954. President Obama could learn from him how to do deportation most effectively without spending $11,500 per head on this.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

In Denver? Absolutely. New England has a dismal record in Denver. We never won there during Elway's entire career. And since then only 2 or 3 times. I think we have 2 wins there under Brady. And now Manning is having a career year there. Of course I hate Eli even more.

I do need to use the term democracy appropriately. The US was formed as a Republic.

You're an honest Abe.

You don't need to correct yourself by calling our system of government a democracy - that is correct. Some #######-retentive folk think there's a necessary distinction between calling it a democracy vs. a representational (republic) democracy. It's like arguing whether something is purple or mauve. Only ####### folk care to make the distinction.

for the studious:

Origin of Term - Republic

In Medieval Northern Italy, a number of city states had commune or signoria based governments. In the late Middle Ages, writers, such as Giovanni Villani, began thinking about the nature of these states and the differences from the more common monarchies. These early writers used terms such as libertas populi, a free people, to describe the states. The terminology changed in the 15th century as the renewed interest in the writings of Ancient Rome caused writers to prefer using classical terminology. To describe non-monarchial states writers, most importantly Leonardo Bruni, adopted the Latin word res publica.[6]

While Bruni and Machiavelli used the term to describe the states of Northern Italy, which were not monarchies, the term res publica has a set of interrelated meanings in the original Latin. The term can quite literally be translated as "public matter".[7] It was most often used by Roman writers to refer to the state and government, even during the period of theRoman Empire.[8] The English word commonwealth is a calque (literal translation) of res publica, and its use in English is closer to how the Romans used the term res publica.[9]

Today the term republic still most commonly means a system of government which derives its power from the people rather than from another basis, such as heredity or divine right. This remains the primary definition of republic in most contexts.

Origin of Term - Democracy

The term originates from the Greek δημοκρατία (dēmokratía) "rule of the people",[1] which was coined from δῆμος (dêmos) "people" and κράτος (kratos) "power" in the 5th century BCE to denote the political systems then existing in Greek city-states, notably Athens;[2] the term is an antonym to ἀριστοκρατία "rule of an elite."

Monarchy? I don't support repealing the 22nd Amendment but to suggest that repealing the 22nd Amendment would make this country a monarchy ignores history. Aside from FDR, no President was ever elected to more than two terms prior to the 22nd Amendment passing a little over a half a century ago. That's right, for over 150 years there were no term limits on the President and yet only one President was ever elected to more than two terms. So spare us the drama please.

Oh sure. We'll see what you say when they come to your door demanding tax for the latest "Presidential" Ball.

And how many were on TV with Super-pacs?

Politics is a different game now, I'm not all that cynical but come on, we don't have debates and campaigns as much as we have "marketing"... when it comes to elections.

What is funny, is, when Putin plays by the rules he is the bad guy, when Obama breaks the rules, he is still the good guy.

Dupes.
