CHEYENNE -- Gov. Dave Freudenthal on Friday signed into law a bill that prohibits government officials from confiscating guns from law-abiding citizens.

If specific laws are being passed that pit the states against the Federal Government constitute civil war then I would guess that the first signs may be appearing. I do not believe that bypassing the constitution by people who have robbed us blind for years would be a very smart idea.

if there was a law allowing illegal immigrants legal documented status do you honestly think we'd have to round them up? the majority would wait in line for weeks just to apply to live here legally.

I said that their argument was that it would be impossible to round all the illegal aliens up and deport them, so that is why they wanted a path to legal status for the criminals. They will be getting their wish starting March 4th of this year. My statement was asking how they might accomplish a confiscation even if they wanted too! This government can't even protect it's foreign ambassadors or secure it's own borders so you really believe they can confiscate that many guns. I have not doubt at all that this government would rejoice at being able to disarm the citizens, then they can do anything they want.

They pretty much do what they want now. A bunch of rednecks running around with semi-auto assault weapons isn't going to stop them from doing what they want. That argument against gun control is pretty flimsy if you ask me. However, I do agree that implementing their policy is going be a joke due to the fact there is 300+ million guns in this country now. It'll make for some nice soundbites and photo-ops, but in the end nothing will really change.

As to this immigration thing. Anyone that thinks that it isn't a path to either permanent residency or citizenship, is fooling themselves. Are you gonna have millions of people running around with eternal 2 year renewable EADs until they die with no path to a green card or citizenship? To think it is going to end with that, is about as realistic as trying to deport all of them.

in order for them to accomplish a confiscation, they would need a constitutional amendment by Congress to repeal the 2nd amendment. Even if that were possible or feasible, there would still remain the logistics associated with such rounding up of weapons. It would be a lengthy process and it would take years or decades.
