Social Security Name Change Help

Hello,

Can anyone provide me with advise or experienced this themselves?

I have a Social Security Card, while on my K-1 visa. Then we were married, so I applied to have my last name changed on Nov 30. Today I received a call from the Social Security Office saying that they are not able to process my name change because it is too close to the expiration of my I-94. They said I should be receiving another expiration date for my I-94 since I have applied for AOS.

I called USCIS and they advised me to make an appointment via the free info pass on their website.

If you have any insight into this situation, I would be grateful to hear it.

Thank you!

i say try again after you have EAD card in hand.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
