Well it is worth a try. I hope they can help. How do you check NVC online Status? I thought that could only done for USCIS. Can it be done for NVC too?

Oh, maybe it is not the NVC... Dept of State site https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw You can then enter your case # and it will say what your status is. We are still in AP :(

Thanks for the link. What exactly is AP? I know it's administrative processing but what does that mean? Do they just look at your case further? And why do some people get put into AP while others don't?

i sent an email to the embassy in sanaa and this is what the auto respond message replied:

Thank you for your email. The U.S. Embassy is currently closed for

consular services. When the Consular Section reopens, we will contact

individuals who have appointments during the period of closure to

reschedule their appointments.

We will respond to all other inquiries as quickly as we can when the

Embassy resumes operations. We appreciate your patience.

Email, just like the first interview email letter.

Oh good. Am waiting. Ahh. Even if they did give me a app in oct. it's like a two month waiting period. And you never knows what happens in yemen. Ridiculous

AP is Administrative Processing. From what I have heard from this board, mostly all males are routinely placed on AP while females go right through. Highly discriminatory if you ask me... however, I do understand the security issues in the country so I guess this is something we have to deal with. I believe they do look at the case further, background checks, etc. My Congressman's representative told me today that he's heard of people being in AP anywhere from 10 days to 1year, it just depends on the case and the Embassy (how fast they want to process).
