.

I'm actually not sure exactly when but most likely 3 weeks ago or less cuz I wasn't the one who requested the transfer I had a sentor do it and that why I don't have it on recorded but when he told me that we were accepted in Algeria was 2 days before I seen my case "transfer in progress" which was on the 27 and then 2 days later it says "ready" for the interview ... Now awaiting the interview date to be scheduled so inshallah Khair

I also had my congressman contact the embassy in Cairo. I will keep you updated but make sure you also do the same. Did you receive a different case number?

Inshallah when ever I get an update I will tell you... So this is what I got in the letter regarding the case transfer

According to the response , the U.S. Embassy in Algiers, Algeria has accepted your immigrant visa petition for counsular processing. Your case will continue to be processed under its current case number : YTC**********, and will be transferred from the U.S Embassy in Cairo to the U.S. Embassy in Algiers. Once the embassy receives and reviews your file, it will contact your family with instructions for processing this case.

So what I understood is that the case number will stay the same ..

Also said that case transfers can take to several weeks to arrive at the embassy from time the transfer request is processed and that we will be contacted when his case arrives to let him know the date of his interview

I think we should hear something this week. The U.S. Embassy in Algiers has a work week from Sunday to Thursday so inshallah we get something soon. I also have the same case number. I am traveling to Algiers with my wife as soon as they give her the interview. Can you ask your husband how the process was when he got to the airport? Like if they were strict or if they were asking him questions and stuff

You should send the request to Ivyemen and to the embassy in Algeria, my wife's case was in Egypt. They don't have to be in Algeria to request the transfer.

Inshallah we do hear from them this week ... So I asked my husband and this is what he said

(If anyone wants me to translate that I will)

Good luck I was thinking you already have ur family there

If you don't have anyone there my husband can pick u up at the airport and find u a room till u arrive

See I don't have the exact date but most likely it was 3 weeks maybe less we were waiting for a reply from them but since it had took that long the senator said he would just contact the nvc and that's when we got a reply after that ... Yeah ivyemen is what the email says to contact if u want to transfer ur case to a different post .. And they have to contact the u.s. Embassy in Algiers to see if they accept ur case or not and most likely their accepting everyone's case alhamdlilah .. My husbands case was in Egypt he already had an interview date on June 23 he went to Jordan to obtain the visa for Egypt. He tried but it was of no use they just tell u come back in 3 weeks com back in 10 days we figured their just wasteing our time and that's when we decided to transfer .. When I transferd his case he wasn't already in Algeria but during our wait for a reply he went anyways just in case they ask for proof that he is already in their country. But yeah u don't have to be their before it transfers ... The letter I got when said his case was accepted in Algeria .. Says to not make any travel plans until u have an appointment
