I heard that because of the fighting going on in Yemen, they're starting to make sure everyone has done their bootcamp/military service before they can leave the country, and if they're not leaving the country and they're of age, they have to do it.

Is this true or is it only voluntary?

My fiance is getting ready to go back to Malaysia to study and he's scared that they will stop him at the airport because he never did bootcamp or military service. He only ever lived in Yemen for one year, but the guys in his neighborhood right now are saying that is what the government is doing. My father thinks that the government only wants volunteers right now and they're not forcing anyone. It's scary though, so I just hope he can get out soon.

How can he get police clearance? Can he just go to the police station in Aden where he is right now? After he leaves Yemen he doesn't plan to go back there again.
