I just heard today that some people I know just got their visa couple days ago, so it is a good sign that they are issuing them

Those are old cases. The problem is they're not accepting new cases. They haven't all year.

This is what i got back from emailing the U.S embassy in Sanaa...

Dear Sir or Madam:

Thank you for your email to SanaaIV, U.S. Embassy Sanaas Immigrant Visa mailbox. We are monitoring Immigrant Visa inquiries, and are answering emails in the order in which they are received. If your inquiry relates to Non-Immigrant Visas (visas for temporary visitors, including business travelers, students, and exchange program participants), then please redirect your email to SanaaNIV<mailto:NIVSanaa@state.gov>. U.S. citizens requiring urgent consular services should email us at SanaaACS<mailto:SanaaACS@state.gov>, or call the Embassy Duty Officer (dial +967-1-755-2000; you may need to enter 0 for an extension). Please note that the Embassy Duty Officer is unable to answer any questions about visas.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

(updated November 16, 2014)

U.S. Embassy Sanaa is now open for Immigrant Visa processing. However, due to the security situation in Yemen, the Embassy Sanaa Consular Section is operating on severely reduced staffing. At this time, we are able to process drastically reduced volumes of Immigrant Visa cases as a result. We are currently focused on processing backlogged cases scheduled and/or interviewed earlier in 2014, and from years prior.

Due to the severely reduced state of U.S. Embassy staffing, please anticipate at least three (3) weeks for a response to your email. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through our case and correspondence backlogs.

If your Immigrant Visa case has not yet been scheduled at the Embassy, please contact the National Visa Center<http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3177.html>for an updated status. If you do not yet have an Immigrant Visa case number (which usually begins with the three letters SAA), then please contact the appropriate United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) field office that is processing your petition.

Yemeni people don't have a voice that's why they can get away with it. If only yemenis can get together go to Washington and protest this. I understand there is a conflict in yemen. But they should let us transfer our case somewhere else
