Security Message for U.S. Citizens

United States Embassy Sanaa, Yemen

May 21, 2014

Due to recent attacks against Western interests in Yemen and ongoing security concerns, the U.S. Embassy in Sanaa is unable to provide routine consular services and will only be able to assist with emergency cases. The Department has been apprised of information that, out of an abundance of caution and care for our employees and others who may be visiting the Embassy, indicates we should institute these precautionary steps. We are continuously analyzing the security conditions and will resume more robust consular operations as soon as our analysis indicates we are able to do so safely.

The Embassy accepted my sister inlaws case for expedition yesterday. NVC forwarded her file to the embassy. So the embassy is working. But I guess special cases.
