Just like I thought they're giving out the same email to everyone to keep us quite. I got the same email a month ago.

What does it mean when they say that The Consular Section at the U.S. Embassy in

Sanaa is currently closed for routine consular services?

It really is terrible. They don't want another Benhhazi though and they don't care about reuniting families when a security threat trumps that. I'm hoping they are still working and getting caught up though.

I really hate to be a downer but last time it closed and my app was cancelled it was closed for two months +

So please be patience and Allah be with you all

That time it was never closed they only excepted special cases and they didn't cancel everyone's appointments. I know because my sister inlaws had appointments at that time. They were just low in staff so they used the excuse they are closed so no one would bother them.

Well tomorrow is Friday - Friday and Saturday it's closed for the weekend. I guess we will know on Sunday. The capital for the westerns in Sanaa is on week two of a lockdown.

Jummah Mubaraka Everyone. The embassy is closed for another week. Just got this email.

United States Embassy, Sanaa, Yemen

Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Embassy Closed Through May 22, 2014

May 15, 2014

Due to recent attacks against Western interests in Yemen, the U.S. Embassy in Sanaa will remain closed for consular services through May 22, 2014. The Department has been apprised of information that, out of an abundance of caution and care for our employees and others who may be visiting the Embassy, indicates we should institute these precautionary steps. It is possible we may have additional days of closings as well, depending on our analysis.
