salaam everyone,

I am new to this visa journey, but I filed for my husband (i-130) on april 30,2013 and until now I haven't heard back for an approval. On nov 2013, they sent me a notice saying it was transferred to the Nebraska service center and then on march 5.2014 they sent me an email saying it got transferred to my local office for "additional processing". It will be a year since I filed by April 2014 and I still haven't got anything back. Did anyone go through the same thing or is going through the same thing?is this normal?

Don't worry my husbands took a year and a half to get approved, now we are in administrative processing for 10 months at the embassy waiting to get a call to drop off his passport. The embassy in yemen is the worst. I hope u have better luck then we did.

It took you a year an half to get approved in the united stars you mean? Because that's what I am talking about. My husband"s case just got traveled to the local office here in the United States. And no approval yet an I know that once they approve it it has to be sent to the nvc an ask for the sponsor which also can take a while and then to Yemen which will probably take even longer. I am just starting this journey, bas Allah will make it easy on all of us inshaAllah

Oh God! IA that will NOT be my case! Wallah, the system is so unfair. I don't even understand how they do it. Some people get approved sooo quickly and others they are waiting for ages.

Did anyone get their file transferred to the local office? If so, what happened there?

its weird how they keep transferi g ur case from office to office.

so u sent it to vermont nd they transferred it to nebraska right then to ur local office right ??

what state do u live in? also r u a citizen or greencard holder? one of my friends who is a greencard holder got her case transferred to her local office cuz they said all the main offices r full at this moment nd wont be able to except more files so they send them back to the local offices which is sometimes better cuz they move quicker. mine was never transferred and stayed at the vermont office which was approved and sent to nvc after 16 months. inshallah the local office doesnt get full neither so ur case would go by quicker.

No, when I filed I sent it to the national benefit center. Then they transferred it to the Nebreske service center (a lot of people got theirs transferred because they said that NBC was backlogged and wanted to "speed up" the processing time, which they kind of did, because when I first filed they were still processing petitions that were filed on october 2012 and then after the transferred they jumped to 2013) Then I got an email march 5th saying it is transferred to the local office for "additional processing". When i called uscis and spoke to tier 2 immigration officer I explained to him that i filed way back in april and i filed both i-130 and i-129f and that's suppose to speed the process up he said well that's why they transferred because they needed to make a decision and i should hear back in 60 days. I don't know. It's making frustrated wallah and so stressed and confused. I live in Michigan. I am waiting for the actual hardcopy notice and I will make an infoPASS appointment or call the local office. I am not waiting for 60 days. I've waited for a while. And I literally called uscis every single month since i applied and they kept telling me the same thing "it's still within processing time"

I am a u.s. citizen.
