Bintalyemen how does that make sense?! I'm so confused. Why would it make sense to file for the fiance visa when you are not eligible and your cr1 papers have been approved? Also why did they do an interview in NY for your case? That seems out of the norm for what I've read. Just curious. Don't they just interview your spouse at the embassy? There are not many k1 filers for Sanaa so always curious how other people's process is going.

Hi, don't mean to intrude but I'd like to explain. I did the same thing as bentelyemen. So basically after mailing out your I-130 petition (CR-1/ IR-1)for your spouse they would accept it and you receive the NOA1. Once you have the NOA1 letter then you can file the I-129f petition( which in our case would be considered as the k-3 for our spouse not k-1 for our fiancé. A lot of us have been doing K-3 but it's basically pointless these days. So now anybody filing for someone from certain countries (like Yemen) they have to get an interview in the US. So us petitioners, well at least in ny I'm sure, are called for interview. And then afterwards our petition is approved and sent to NVC. As for the I-129f it also gets approved and sent to the US embassy. But like I said its pointless to our cases. Not only does it expire four months after it's approval but it automatically gets shutdown if the I-130 petition gets approved before it. Edited by Sleepless_36

I think the embassy is moving along the files that have been in administrative processing for a long time becuz I've been hearing a lot of ppl lately getting their visas but none of them are recent like ours. Maybe the embassy moves along the old cases in the beginning of the year and then Hopefully around now, they start giving out appointments to the new cases like ours. Last year, the wait was around 6 months or less for people that had case complete around the middle of year. May/June/July. And then they just stopped. I've been waiting nearly 6 months, bas InshaAllah we all get appointments this month inshaAllah ya Rabb.

Dream Comes Truth- I'm not sure if they move along F3 cases the same way they do for the CR1 and IR1's. Sometimes they stop giving out appointments for that file type, bas inshaAllah they won't.

It's taking too long. It doesn't look like they're scheduling appointments for anyone these days.

That is correct. I-129F for K3 visas are pointless. They will approve both I-130 & I-129f but will administratively close the I-129f due to having an approved I-130. There's NOTHING that will tell you that the I-129f is close so please move forward with the I-130. This was my past mistake which delayed my husband's visa process for such a long time. They used to approve I-129f a couple years ago when the visa process was taking a very long time and now since it has gotten better they decided to stop them. Also dealing with the embassy of Sanaa, you are better off sticking to what they are very familiar with. They have a uniquely difficult staff.

Can calling our congressman/woman really help in getting an interview?? I understand it def helps if ur in AP but if we're all waiting for interviews and we all know they go in order, then there really isn't much we can do, rite.. Unless u get it expedited, but those r only for emergencies only... Ugggghhh. I get so angry sometimes, I don't wana wait anymore :-/

May Allah give us patience. Btw, if u don't mind me asking, how long did u wait from when u got case complete to when they gave u the interview letter?

IS not true my frind.from march 2014, the nvc start moving faster. BELVEME.

The problem is not with NVC. NVC is scheduling appointments for other consulates. The problem is with our embassy. It doesn't look like they are opening a lot of slots for appointments. I don't even understand exactly what they are doing. I just want to know for what months are they scheduling now.

Seems like like they go in a pattern this time of year. It's March and still no appointments for Aug/Sept. Looks like we still have a couple more months of waiting. InshaAllah khair.
