I am doing it this week you can get it notarized in the dmv

I am worried about the evidence too I don't know what to do

my husband has his interview at the end of the month

no I got scared lol

Thank you for your reply. Yes i was able to find out that the bank can also do it. My question here is for the "Official Use" column is that the embassy who will fill out?

As far as the evidence, they are asking list the time you have been physically present in the US, to me i only need to fill out one row and that would be the date i came to the US till present. My evidence is going to be job offer, taxes, driver license. So why do you see this is as a problem? please share you thoughts that way we can all avoid issues. My wife's interview is at the end of June. What doesn't make sense to me, why would the embassy ask the petitioner whom they happened to be US citizen/permanent already living in the US to provide such evidence.

Also would you mind if you share with us later on once your husband inshallah pass the exam, would you mind if you tell us the type of questions they asked? how fast he got his visa? was it issued on the same day? I need to prepare my wife, alhamdulilah she memorized every thing but just in case i want to avoid any delays.

I would advise if you haven't done it to ask your husband to get a new police report and have it ready, i heard some people were delayed because their police report was expired. Also provide your current tax for this year and send it to your husband.

This is so far what i have found out from asking friends and relatives.

Good luck.

Ok here is my issue but I want to start off by saying I am really happy for all those who have gotten interviews!! I am not trying to be rude or anything I am just really frustrated with the us embassy in yemen!!! My husband went in for first interview in 2009.. Second interview in march 2013 said come back in a week to pick up visa... Went back and they said go home we will call you currently may 2013 we have not heard anything! Through email they tell me they do not have a time slot for him to come and pick up his visa!!! They said once they have an appointment for him they will call him, so that is why I am curious of how some of you are saying you guys have appointments for an interview. An they put our case under "ready for interview" like he will have to go through another interview. I am so frustrated and I have a son who is sick/disabled so I really can't go back to visit!!! Anyone have any thoughts or has heard of such a think!!!!???!! Comments are really appreciated thanks!!!

I'm really sorry you have to go through all of this.

What you should find out is if your husband is under administrative processing. At the end of his interview did they give him a 221g green sheet? It's literally a green sheet. Find out.

A friend of mine told me her sister's husband's visa was supposed to be picked up aswell but they said they were having trouble with the visa printer. That could be the problem as well. And May hasn't been too long ago. Please have hope.

Also lastly, contact your senator to inquire on your behalf. This could be very beneficial to your case.

Go to the Debbie Stabenow website and get in contact with them. Or call them, even better.

Wow. Just... Wow. Your story made me sick to my stomach. 5 years?! That's unconscionable. You should definitely seek the assistance of your elected officials - congresspeople, senators, whoever will listen. And call the DOS hotline and email the Embassy often to remind them you are still waiting after all this time and keep inquiring case status. It may help, it may not. It's better than nothing.

I know of someone who just picked up his visa like 2 weeks ago. I call bullsh*t on "visa printer problems". He had his interview in the beginning of April, visa issued end of April. His wife waited 2 years for her I-130 petition to be approved though.

Stay strong everyone! You're all in my prayers rose.gif

Is this the same guy you said was your fiancé's friend or is this another guy?

I love hearing stories of guys getting their visas with no AP at the embassy in Yemen.

So worried for my husband. =/

If what the guy on the phone said is true, then it seems your husband's visa is already printed and they screwed up with actually giving him a time and date to pick it up.

Have you emailed the embassy? I know they are most of the time no help, but this is definitely not the time to be quiet.

I really don't know what's going on. I think my husband and I are getting screwed!!!! When I email them they just say we will contact him shortly!!!! Serious I don't even know what shortly is anymore!!! The last two emails they won't even respond!!!! Honestly I don't know why they won't give him his visa!!!! How hard is it to call him and say come pick up your visa at this time on this date!!!! I could see if there was missing documents but they keep saying we will contact him shortly.

The DOS Hotline is 202-663-1225. All they can really tell you is your husband's case status, ie: is it still in Administrative Processing or is it Issued? The Embassy is well known for giving people misinformation. They are critically understaffed and the staffers that are there seem to be the most disorganized. When my fiance and I reached out to American Citizen Services (last time I was in Sanaa) to get some documents notarized they had zero appointments on the calendar. Absolutely none then and in the future as far as the appointment calendar would go. I emailed them and received a reply a month later. The staffer was very apologetic, said there are so many security issues the Consular Officers can't get into work half the time. I don't know if this is true or not, honestly. Needless to say we never got the document notarized at the Embassy. no0pb.gif

Yep same dude. But his petition (his wife's petition), like so many other Yemenis, took 2 years to approve. There must be a reason for that. Maybe they do the background checks at the USCIS stage. No one really knows. I'm afraid for my fiance to get sucked into the AP black hole even though he went to university in the US on a student visa. I wish it were safer for me to visit more often, but even if it was I wish I could visit more often. With both of our jobs we don't get a lot of vacation time. crying.gif

When I got my congressman involved they told him flat out that my husband's case was put into 'legally mandated administrative processing.' So yes, I'm pretty sure there's some AP going on at the USCIS stage.

Thats okay, I can live with AP at the USCIS stage. What I'm seriously scared of is AP at the embassy stage for many reasons. They are backlogged, understaffed and they've always been slow and behind on everything.

As far as it being safe. I really think if you don't travel and just stay in Sana'a, you will be okay. Correct me if I'm wrong, don't they kidnap those westerns who roam around Yemen freely in the deserts and empty roads? I don't think I've heard that they just ambush homes randomly. =)
