If it is just yourself then no, you cannot get a business visa for that, unless as you mention you make a major investment and employ Americans.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

To get a work visa you have to find an employer who wants to/needs to (and has money to do so) bring you to the US.

It's gonna be hard, since this employer would have to prove that there aren't any specialists (like you) in the US and that's why they need to bring you.

To get a work visa need to invest in a business you need to invest a substantial amount of money and employ Americans, or find a job where someone is willing to sponsor you, and that employer would have to prove he can't find an american with the skill set to hire. It isn't that simple, or everyone would do it.
