Ok, was fine to take the electronics in, gave myself enough time to go back to the car but didn't need to in the end.

Went ok overall. Pretty standard questions, date/place of birth, parent's names, addresses, how we met, where we work etc.

Any ideas how long it usually takes to get a decision after the interview? I've seen of a couple of people that got decisions later the same day as the interview, but don't know if that's typical.

Any ideas how long it usually takes to get a decision after the interview? I've seen of a couple of people that got decisions later the same day as the interview, but don't know if that's typical.

We got it right there and then before we left the office. Took the EAD/AP combo card as well.

Us too, while we were in the interview he let us know it was approved. But as we have seen, every office is different.

We travelled this weekend to visit my parents using the greencard for the first time. On the way back, it was kind of amazing. The POE officer asked us only TWO questions. Where we had been and if we were bringing anything back. He was flipping through my passport with a weird grin on his face at the K1 visa and then looked at the greencard. On the 2nd question, my husband answered that we were bringing back gifts for the baby. At this point he got a sillier look on his face, handed back our paperwork and said "welcome back guys" and we got to go through.

I was kind of in shock, and the best part was the 'welcome back guys' - I said to my husband, HEY that means ME too! I have crossed over to the 'other side'! What a nice change :)

Hang in there Pinkrlion... I'm guessing by now you are probably in the "no interview but greencard takes forever" phase. Hopefully not too much longer for you :( Not sure what the average wait is... I've heard anything from 7 to 12 months. Anyone else know?

NVC Received : 2012-06-22

NVC Left : 2012-06-28

Consulate Received : 2012-07-02

Packet 3 Received : Called DOS on 07/3 and package 3 sent out. We didn't wait for the "physical" package. My fiance' mailed DS2001 and DS230 part I

out the next day via EMS. You don't have to wait for pkg3. You can download and fill it out ahead of time.

I hear you. I am guessing we won't hear anything until September or so. I have accepted that I am in the endless pile.

On a side note- going to Canada for the first time since moving here this weekend. I am taking my EAD/AP combo, passport and marriage certificate. Should suffice right?
