Glad to hear it's possible sk8rpatty. The CBP office in Seattle tells me I can't import my car on a K1 without a greencard which is totally incorrect so I have to wait till I have permission to go to Canada and re-enter the states so I can import it at the border since the local guys won't help. He wouldn't believe me if I told him you managed to import it either. *roll eyes* I have half a mind to get every K1 who has done it to phone him and prove he is wrong. Alas he is the kind of person that would still refuse to believe. So, I am just going to wait a bit longer to import.

sveta not really wants to drive and her reading english still limited. I also noted our time lines are very close we filed aos about week b4 but you files k-1 3 weeks before us lol

Yeah I was being lazy filing for AOS. I should have done it a bit sooner, but doing all paperwork seemed overwhelming at the time.

Adjusting from K-1 here and our interview is next week. It sounds like location may have more to do with it. Who knows. We have still not heard a word on his EAD/AP. The USCIS web site still says the case numbers cannot be found. I'm glad we got all the updates for the AOS and the interview or we would be quite worried right now.

Jordan has been driving with his Canadian license and was able to register the car he drove here from Canada. California wouldn't let him do anything for the license until he could show residency (EAD or GC) He's been studying for the test though and will take it as soon as he receives his docs. We're lucky that State Farm will insure you with a Canadian license.

Our timelines are very close and it makes me think we would have heard something by now if we had an interview. I really don't know. I'm glad you at least get the AOS updates. Hope you get approved at your interview and no worries about the EAD/AP!

They told him the same thing on the phone. :bonk: Then he went there in person with all his documents to try again. After talking to several people they finally signed the form for the DMV. They told him he will need to come back after he receives his GC...but not sure for what reason. It's amazing how they are more confused than we are. LOL

We were afraid we were going to have to make the trip back again with the car...which for us is a looonnng drive!

Yep, my guess is that you wont have to do an interview. Glad you got your EAD/AP approval already!

Now I'm stressing getting everything organized for the interview. Ugh. We just moved 3 weeks ago and now are in the middle of doing some remodeling. What a mess! I'll be glad when this is over.

Congrats on the approval of EAD/AP.

I got my interview letter 6 days after the EAD/AP approval.

If you have proof, such as lease on both names, joint account and other documents showing what they want then if I had to go back I would still hope for an interview! It is stressful ok, but it's way quicker :)

I just finished organizing our things for my upcoming AOS interview. I feel like a lawyer, preparing for the most important case of my career!

Our interview is April 16th. I'm confident I'll get approved.

One more hoop to jump through, until the next one comes rofl.gif

ps- We'd love it if we didn't have to go for the interview. We have to fly from Maui to Oahu.

(I know... BOO HOO...) $150-200 round trip per person. Oh well... such is life.

Wow that must have been super relieving to have the guy find that for you at the post office! The post office "lost" our wedding disc of photographs too - but when I showed up and asked about why it hadn't been delivered, they magically found it in a back room! So glad you got your greencard - now you can relax and celebrate!
