January 2013 AOS filers

Hello everyone!!!

I just signed up, I have been checking and reading all the post for long time, Im a January '13 filer, came with Tourist Visa in '01 and overstay (OUT-OF STATUS) for 12 years. 5 years ago in '08 met my hubby online, living together since a few weeks after we met, in NOV '09 we got pregnant to our baby girl who was born in August '10, 4 months later we decided to get married, we did small reunion with family in Dec '11, now after 2yrs of marriage decided its time to do AOS... I hope everything go smooth!!!

Tourist Visa(out of status)- AOS

01/03/13 sent I130.I485,I765 to chicago lockbox

01/08/13 Email/txt acceptance conf.

01/10/13 checks cashed

01/11/13 got NOA1 for all 3 forms.

01/12/13 got NOA Biometrics appt letter 01/30/13

01/30/13 Biometrics done!

01/30/13 Called NCS to change of address.

02/04/13 got conf letter change of address

02/12/13 got NOA Interview appt 03/15/13 at local office.

xx/xx/13 EAD approved email/txt

xx/xx/13 EAD Card/production

xx/xx/13 EAD Mailed.

Tom ended up getting the day off, so we went at our scheduled time. Funny thing though. They called me up, the guy took my fingerprints and photo. He was friendly and chatty, and then at the end, I swore he said "okay, you're good, take a seat". So I did but then Tom said everyone else just left. So I went up and asked if we had to do anything else, and a girl said no, I'm free to go. But now I'm worried that we missed something lol. We didn't, right?

Not that I am aware of. Sounds exactly like my husband's appointment. All done in a matter of minutes and we left.

Thank you... No, we didn't, But before we sent the package, we met with a lawyer, to see how much she will charge, She explained us what to do, she said that my case is easy, because I entered with VISA and when she said the amount... we were like .... so we decided to filed ourself...

What did you swear? Did he put a big red stamp on your biometrics letter? Were all your fingerprints accepted?

We filed in late January and my wife had her biometrics taken two weeks ago - yet our three case numbers still turn up nothing on the USCIS site.

It took out nearly 3 weeks to get an update

No, I don't mean that I swore at him... I meant that as an expression, as in "I could've sworn the guy said" ... Sorry, maybe that didn't come across properly LOL.

Ah, thanks for the info Mr. Smiley. Hopefully they will input our case into the USCIS online system soon - otherwise we may get an interview letter without ever being acknowledged by their website. Haha. I've heard of that happening before.

Called again USCIS and been told that my EAD/AP card is in production. Well, thought she has been useful with at least this info, but checked online and I can see my employment case status today! LOL.

No news on the I-485, I guess I might not be called for an interview then, it's been over a month since the biometrics.. probably the case status will change online like it did today with my EAD once they update something...

Feel better tho that my EAD/AP card is gonna be on its way soon!!!
