Hello everyone,

I filled I-130 for my spouse on 10.04.12 and its been 3 months and counting , there's no update as of yet. Could someone please tell me how long does it takes for NOA2 to be approved? I know there's no set-pattern in any immigration cases it varies but still i was trying to get an idea. My case was sent to National Benefit Center and when i call them for updates they have none neither does their automated voice system.

Thanks

Assalamoalaikum brother. I believe the center you got your case at is the fastest! I've been researching here and it seems people are getting their approvals from NBC/MSC in 3 months or so! So I would recommend just hang in there it should arrive at any time inshaAllah! :-)

JazAllah. Yes hopefully soon. I've been doing a lot of research too it just feels like nothing is moving and its taking forever, I'm a very patient person but USCIS sure knows how to test people. Besides waiting what else I can do :) so yeah Inshalah soon i guess.

My friend whom lives on a street next to mine also applied around the same time as you. His case also went to NBC. He got a case number starting with MSC. I'm sure your case number begins with MSC as well right? Yeh bro there nothing absolutely nothing we can do beside wait... I've been waiting for past 5 months. My case is sitting at Vermont service center. I called them today and talked to Tier2 lady. She asked me to wait another 30 days. She said I will get something in a month :-)

Hang in there you should be getting some good news soon InshAllah. Pray regularly now...extra :)

well i guess patience is the name of the game then. :)

My case was sent to the NBC as well a few months ago and we were finally approved today. Normally, as NikiR stated, it takes 5-8 months (5 months being the average goal). It's all about waiting and keeping your patience.

How long depends on service centers and current backlogs. I'm not up to date on this. Mine took a little less than 4 months at the California Service Center last year.

I know it's a tough wait. I've been there. It's a real patience tester, but it's something every family based immigrant to the US goes through. It will come though. And when it does, NVC is usually a fairly quick journey.

Jay Thank you for your response. It really helps to get mentally prepared.
