I thought I would write to offer a review of my medical done at Dr. Seiden's office in Toronto today. I along with my two children aged 12 and 10.

We arrived at 7:30 am and found parking at Greenwin Square (underground) on Huntley St. It cost $15 for the time that we were there. Went up to the 14th floor. We ran into a fellow VJer who was also there for his medical. :)

The receptionist took my packet 3 form (the one that shows the Montreal case #) and told us to have a seat in the waiting room. About 8:15 am I was called in to register, where I gave the lady our passports, immunization records, and photos (3 for me and 1 for each of my kids). She had me sign all the forms for all the exams. I paid her $600 (CDN funds).. $300.00 for my medical and $150.00 for each kids. Plus I also paid $50.00 for them to courier the results to me. (I live 2 hours away and wasn't going to drive back to pick up the results). They use Fedex for courier.

After that another lady was waiting to take me into the exam room. So I brought the kids in with me as I didn't want them sitting in the waiting room alone. She took my blood pressure, height and weight. Then I had to go to a different exam room (away from the kids) where I undressed and had to put on a paper gown. Everything off except the bra. The lady stayed with the kids and started their exams. She checked their height and weight and gave them both an eye test.

Then Dr. Malcolm came in. I suppose he is an associate of Dr. Seiden's. He checked my mouth and throat, listened to my back and chest. He asked if I had any medical conditions or had had any surgeries. (This is what I was a little nervous about). I have CHC - a congenital heart condition. (Born with it). I have had a lot of surgeries. But I came prepared. I told him yes and that I had my clinical notes from my cardiologist with me so he asked to see them. He wrote down all of my surgeries and asked me a couple of questions. He noted that he knew my cardiologist and that he is a very good doctor and writes very thorough notes. :)

He didn't seem to flinch about my medical condition at all. I was relieved. I'm not quite sure why I was nervous about it, but until this process is over, I guess there is always something. :huh:

After that he told me that he was sending in the lady to check me. It was NOT a pelvic exam, she just had a look. :blush: I was then able to dress and re-join the kids.

Dr. Malcolm was with the children. He checked their mouth and throats, and listened to their backs and chests. Asked me the same questions about them having any medical conditions or surgeries. He checked my son for a hernia.. standard for boys he told me.

After the exams we were told to wait again in the waiting room because I had to have bloodwork. We only waited about 10 minutes and then another lady called me in for bloodwork. After that we went to the receptionist and handed in our forms, then she sent us around the corner (Sherbourne Street) to have the x-ray.

We waited in x-ray about 20 minutes before they called me in. It was quick and easy. Only I had to have the bloodwork and chest x-ray, the kids did not.

Then we were done! We were leaving Toronto by 9:50 am. Overall went really well, and Dr. Malcolm and all the people there were nice and friendly! :thumbs:

I will have the results on Thursday! Interview in Montreal on January 22, 2013! :D

ROC: NOA1 11-7-14; Biometrics 12-1-14; 10-yr Green cards ordered 4-13-15! (157 days total)

Counting down to naturalization time!

If it isn't too personal, can you share what your RFE was for? You don't have to reply if you don't want to. I'm just curious about items that hold up the cases.

It was for my fiance's divorce decree. He got the paperwork from the court house but apparently it was a divorce nisi that we sent. We then sent the final decree (35 pages long) back with the RFE and then we were approved.
