I'm going to miss Canadian HGTV and Canadian Food network. Everytime I visit the US and watch HGTV the bulk of the programs are crafty. I don't want to make a lampshade out of pipe cleaners, and I don't want to sponge my walls. I want the Designer Guys! Obviously, I don't have it on all the time, but the best programs on it are the Canadian design shows that they've picked up. As for the food network, it is supposed to be 24/7, but in my new home town, it is all infomercials in the morning. And there is really only so much of that Rachel Ray person I can take.

.......and what about Giada the chic with the over sized head who wears the low cut tops and rolls her friggin eyes when shes tastes the food...cant stand her. But on a happier note I did find Chef Michael Smith "chef at home" on the Discovery Home channel, so that was exciting. My hubb is definately gonna miss Holmes on Homes. Canadian HGTV was definately more " real " ...a lot less glitz but I think Discovery Home shares a few of the same programs.

I have seen Holmes on Holmes down here... I am trying to remember the channel... Yeah, it is Discovery Home... My hubby the USC likes that show too...

I have seen some other Canadian design type shows down here too.... The Designer Guys, I can't remeber her name at the moment but that annoying tall, blond skinny chick who has a design show and others that I can't think of at the moment....

UGH- I'm gong to miss watching the Senators play. Somehow I doubt all their games are gonna be broadcasted in VA. :( Unless of course my fiance subscribes to all the sports channels...that would be too dangerous!

You don't need to subscribe to all of the sports channels just NHL Center Ice ... I know on our satellite system "Dish Network" is $129.00 if you apply early, $189.00 if you apply after season starts and $109.00 for the later half of the season ... and and it says $49.00 for the race to the playoffs ... I am not sure if you get the playoffs if you pay for the package at the beginning of the season ...

You can get almost every game that is played in the NHL ... Something like 13 channels are available and you can usually pick which telecasters you want to watch ... For instance I was watching the Canucks vs Avalanche and I was able to watch the Vancouver commentators or i could have flipped the channel and watch the Denver commentators ...

We never did subscribe I just managed to watch the free week or so that was at the beginning of the season ... I might subscribe now that I got a job as wife didn't see it as a priority :)

I've seen a lot of Canadian shows on HGTV and somewhere else, but I can't remember if The Designer Guys are one. I DO remember seeing a commercial for them down here, and it said "All new The Designer Guys" and I laughed cuz they're not new :P I just can't remember which network that was, or maybe they've been pulled.

Candace's show is on down here somewhere too, I can't remember the name of that one. Plus something else.

divorced - April 2010 moved back to Ontario May 2010 and surrendered green card

PLEASE DO NOT PRIVATE MESSAGE ME OR EMAIL ME. I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT CURRENT US IMMIGRATION PROCEDURES!!!!!

Down here we get all the HGTV Canada shows but they come in on Discovery Home, *I think*. I know I always see Holmes on Homes, etc. in the listings. We do have Digital Cable though, so that might matter.

Yeah, we don't get Holmes on Homes on regular cable, but I think he's on the bigger digi packages. Same as Designer Guys and some other stuff. They're not on HGTV down here tho, but other affiliated networks.
