So we sent away our package on Friday to the Chicago lockbox via express mail. The lady said we could chose to have it delivered there on Monday as it would probably be closed on Saturday (which it is), so we said YES please deliver it on Monday, with signature and all that jazz.... So i'm not sure if they are blind or have their own prerogative but they tried delivering it Saturday, which means they left a notice.... Will it be sent back to us now because of course no one was there to accept it. Or do they have people that go and pick up deliveries from the post office when they aren't there... This is really starting to STRESS me out.... Thoughts, help, advice?

Unlike Canada Post, USPS does deliver on Saturday. I would guess that USCIS gets tons of mail on Saturdays even if they're closed.

Did USPS say it was not left there? Can you request that it be re-delivered? I know with couriers you can ask them to go out again.

But again, I would assume USCIS has missed mail every Saturday and that someone would have to collect it all on Monday when they reopen?

Just my two cents. Not much help I realize.

Most courier services try the next day if it is undeliverable that day. Did you track it today? Don't be stressed. It hasn't even been a week since you sent your file yet.

03/23/2022: Application for passport submitted at USPS facility under standard processing.

04/04/2022: Status changed to “The U.S. Department of State has received your application for your passport book on 04/04/2022. We're now reviewing your application and supporting documents...Your application locator number is 51*******.”

04/04/2022: Check for passport cashed.

05/03/2022: Status changed to "The U.S. Department of State approved your application for your passport book. We're now printing your passport book and preparing to give it to you. You should receive your passport book on or around 05/09/2022."

05/05/2022: Passport Received.

05/09/2022: SSA Citizenship Status Updated.

05/25/2022: Naturalization Certificate received in mail.

Okay all is good... It got delivered today! I just checked, they must just not have updated the usps website when I was looking earlier! Now the waiting game truly begins!

I work for Canada Post, and if the carriers go to drop off a piece of mail/parcel etc, and you're not home, they don't send it back .It goes to a postal center where you can pick it up. The carriers should leave a sign on your door telling you where and when to pick it up!
