Hello VJ,

My husband has his CR1 visa interview on Jan 10th in Mumbai. While preparing for the documents to take, we noticed that there is a fee of $230.00 payable to "The American Consulate General, Mumbai" in a bank draft issued by a nationalized or foreign bank. The current exchange rate for $1 is Rs. 57.

When I submitted the IV application (Form DS230), I have paid $230.00. Is this a different fee that needs to be paid at the interview?

No you don't pay at the consulate, you already paid the fee.

No, you don't need to pay $230 again. However, there is a new fee of $165 that need be paid if he is picking up his visa after Feb 1st, 2013.
