Hi Tim,

This is my first post to this site after being pointed in its direction by a friend that’s in the process of emigrating to the US from the UK to be with her husband.

I have to say that knowing that you’re tireless campaigning to be with the man you love is both heart-warming and inspiring, as I'm a very similar situation myself. My fiancé (also called Tim!) is an American citizen and I'm Scottish, so unless DOMA is repealed there’s really no chance that I’ll be allowed to take up permanent residence in the US, and his coming here is also fraught will challenges and hoops to jump through from UK Border Agency.

Please keep us all posted on the progress that you and Keno make toward your goal of being with one another. I truly wish you all the luck and happiness in the world.

I hope you guys can make it!

I truly believe we all should have the same rights :star: we all human beings with feelings, with dreams and hopes. I know how difficult is being away from your loveone, only being able to talk to my now husband through a computer, not being able to kiss him, hug him or spend quality time like normal people do.

Now that Im here with him, Im amaze about how strong we were back then and how stressful but it was all worth it, so keep fighting for your love and your dreams guys :dance: I have a good feeling about all this.

I went through this process almost 2 years ago but I still can remember every detail of the entire process so if you need help, email me...I will be more than happy to help you.

If the US follows other countries it is unlikely to be a K1 as such, more a domestic partnership which would include same sex relationships. Sort of like a cohabitating B2.
