Hello there

My wife and I (Joseph and Jazmin) are new to this site. It's nice to find a place with people going through the same thing we are. We look forward to sharing our experiences and reading yours.

We have already submitted our I-130 and now are just waiting. We also may take advantage of the Deferred Action so she can at least have her license here while we wait. Here's our "about us" story for your amusement.....

My wife and I met through a mutual friend of ours. I don't remember the first time we met, but she remembers me being the dork playing video games (rocking out with Guitar Hero) at my mom's house. She also remembers my horrible mustache. A few meetings after that and still nothing; just acquaintances. Fast forward a bit. My friend gets back from being deployed over seas and tells Jazmin he is going to hang out with his friend Joe. She's still thinking of me as the dork and hasn't seen me since before my friend was deployed. She was outside and I pulled up to his apartment. She recognized the car, but didn't recognize the guy inside. I had recently graduated from the Sheriff's Academy and was super fit and clean shaven. As she tells the story she had an "ah-ha" moment and couldn't stop staring at me. That is where she says she decided we were going to be together. And I still give her grief for only liking me for my good looks. :-) We started dating and early in our relationship I was there for her when she lost her sister. That was a tough time that I feel brought us close together. Dating soon turned in to living together and then a year and a half later I popped the question in Vegas outside the Tiffany's store. Not too long after that we had to postpone our big wedding and elope so she could quit her job. Then just days before our one year anniversary we had our son Luke. And now we're living happily ever after. And that's the short version.

00/00/0000 --A bit of a break. Mother-in-law battling cancer which eventually took her. Very tough time for my wife as she lost her sister just 4 years ago to cancer as well. :-(

03/28/2013 --Response to RFE sent

04/23/2013 --Case Approved!!!

August 22, 2012: case complete
October 18, 2012: Interview (APPROVED)
October 26, 2012: Picked up visa from DHL (delay caused by Sandy)
December 15, 2012: POE Atlanta....................became USC July 2016!!!!

Mothers' Journey (My sister is the petitioner)

September 10, 2013: Sent I-130 (UPS next day service)

September 12, 2013: Received text to confirm delivery

September 16, 2013: Received NOA 1

March 22, 2014: Received NOA 2

April 8, 2014: File Received by NVC

May 26, 2015: Interview (approved)..........now LPR (delays caused by 2 RFE)

USCIS stage ( 66 days)
10/12/2012: NOA 1
12/17/2012: NOA 2 (case was transferred to NYC office 11/27/12)
NVC stage ( 20 days)
01/08/2013: Case # and IIN assigned ( file arrived NVC mail room 12/20/12)
01/09/2013: AOS invoiced and paid, DS-3032 emailed and mailed.
01/16/2013: IV invoiced &paid. AOS & IV mailed in one package(arrived 01/18).
01/28/2013: Case complete!!!
04/19/2013: Interview; APPROVED!!!!!
05/13/2013: POE; JFK
