Australian Police Certificate

Hello All,

My lovely lady (a Chinese citizen) lived in Australia for two years as she studied for her Master's degree in Perth. Now, we have to go through the process of getting her police certificate from Australia to complete her immigration process. I have no idea where to start (or who to talk with). What is the process for a foreigner in Australia to receive a police certificate? How long does this process usually take?

Any help, advice, or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

If she's still in Australia, then just go to the police station and request the background check with fingerprints. If you are doing DCF through Sydney, then you should've received packet 3 which will have a bunch of info in regards to the police check.

Is she still in Perth?

If so, she makes an appointment at the AFP station in Perth and asks them for a police report with fingerprints at which point they (hopefully) will take care of her. At least, that's what Pckt 3 says about police checks in Western Australia . . . hope it helps . . .
