I-134 question, searched without results

I have the I-134 along with,

1) Letter from my employer

2) Letter from my bank

3) Last three years of tax transcripts (not W2's)

4) Last three months of pay stubs

5) Form which shows my 401k balance

6) Letter of continued support for Visa

7) My birth certificate

So my question is about this statement from the instructions sent with the I-134 packet as translated from Spanish:

Declaration of Support the people in the United States that wishes to grant a guarantee to an applicant by means of a Declaration of Support will have to use the I-134 form. The guarantor also can do a Declaration Sworn before the Public Notary public showing his desire and financial standing or to contrribuir the support of the applicant and its reasons to do it.

As I understand this, (if I am reading it right) this is a option in addition to the I-134 if desired but is not necessary. Write or wrong? What have you done?

Thanks

I haven't seen anyone doing this, really, just the fact your sponsor will have his I-134 signed before a notary already makes the I-134 a declaration of support.

It is something that can be submitted along with the I-134. Mention of it is also in the pinned I-134 thread at the top of this forum.

Sponsors may also elect to furnish a statement in the form of an affidavit sworn to before a notary public or other official competent to administer an oath, setting forth his or her willingness and financial ability to contribute to the applicant's support and reasons, in detail, for sponsoring the applicant.
